Vintage LEGO Pirates set 6276, Eldorado Fortress Build and Review

In this Brick Therapy session, I review one of my all time favorite LEGO sets, 6276 Eldorado Fortress. Notice I said all-time favorite, not just vintage Pirates or vintage LEGO.

This set brings back a lot of fond memories for me. It may be the first major LEGO set I purchased as an adult. It is also the set that would launch me into years of enjoyment and appreciation for the Pirates theme.

To be honest, I don't much care for the pirates. I was always jealous that they received the Black Seas Barracuda. In my LEGO universe, the BSB belonged to the Imperials.

In the early part of collecting the Imperial Soldiers and Guards, I would combine the forces because I didn't have enough of them. The Imperials would battle with not only the pirates, but with the Forestmen and the classic castle knights.

Before the pirates theme came out, LEGO did not have guns to my knowledge. I would use the torches or lances as guns. There were also some space pieces that worked as firearms also. Heck, even the metal detector ending us as a shooting weapon.

I could go on forever. Check out my video review here.

Vintage LEGO Pirates set 6274, the Caribbean Clipper

In this Brick Therapy session, I build and review LEGO Pirates set 6274, the Caribbean Clipper. This was the only official Imperial Soldiers ship.

The Caribbean Clipper was decent for her time, but I would have much preferred something closer in size to the Black Seas Barracuda. Although she has a small crew of four, three sailors and the Governor. I liked that all the sailors were exactly the same. I would rather have an officer or captain instead of the Governor commanding the ship, but if the Governor only came in one set, he would be super expensive now.

I play to build a couple mocs of increasing sizes to fortify the Imperial Soldiers fleet. But until then, watch my build and review here.

Weekly LEGO Haul

In this weeks LEGO Haul, I add a lot of new recruits to both the  Vintage Imperial Solders and Vintage Imperial Guards. Jack Sparrow also shows up with some musketeers.

This week sees the addition of two ships. Both duplicates of ships already in my fleet.
